I have been fascinated with Nova's since i was a kid, My dad was an original owner of a 70 ss .. Well im trying to follow in his footsteps even thought the Son of a B left my mom when i was 3! Enough of the boring stuff. I have a 72 Nova which i just bought last week ( even though ive had a nice roller in my garage for the last 2 years) I just dropped it off at the body shop. I bought a BB 396 w/turbo 400 2 years ago that ready to drop in, this nova had a 350/350 in it. I wanna know other than BB springs and New radiator w/ electric fans is there any other issues im gonna run into. will the stock driveshaft work . The rear is a 10 bolt posi with 3:73 gears. Is there any gurus that live in the inland Empire that can help a first timer.

i think you have to get big block frame mounts to move the engine over a bit to make room for the steering box ,,,, and maybe the cross member might need some mods ,,,

Yeah i got the motor mounts for the big block, is there really some mods to the crossmember ...any help on that would be greatly appreciated

frame mounts ,,

the ones i'm referring to are bolted to the frame , then the motor mounts bolt to that ,, i'd get some moroso solid motor mounts if it wuz me,, i've never done this swap myself so i'm gonna shush

I still have sbc frame mounts in my car. I did use the Moroso tall solid mounts. Pics are in my Sig.

my car was a 350/350 and i installed a 454/400, driveshaft will work, but youll need a 400 yoke (i have one) and a big to little u joint ($35 DTS), you need a 400 crossmember but the 350 crossmember will work with a few mods, first slide it back to the last hole, make a plate to reach back to the 400 mount and your done but the cross member will only have 2 bolts not 4, this is how mine is. If you reuse yours and have a deep pan you will also have to knotch out the lip on the crossmember, if its stock your ok. good luck.
