Dave's has a pretty good rep, he's all over the NORCAL1320 board, if its the same guy.

Bayshore has had a lot of fast stuff come out of there, plenty of local sub 10 guys use them.

Reggie's isnt around anymore, John Gianloi's dad is supposedly @ Gotelli's now, might wanna go there ask. John Gianoli did build the motor that was in my 406, it sat for 15 yrs till i got a hold of it. and really cant believe it took the beaten i gave it, considering it was sittin a long time.

Al Leist, havent heard too many good stories from that shop. it may be different these days, but i wouldnt take the chance.

all the other shops, never heard of them or know anyone that has used them. i got my turbo motor rebuilt @ Motor Machine, but there're in Sac. hope this helps..... good luck w/ the build..

Daves does excelent work and has a great reputation but is pricey. I know Frank Marciel who runs Top of the Hill performance machine shop and he is a no bs top of the line guy but again a little pricey! Both of these places will give ya what you pay for without any problems!!

This is the type of info I'd like for the NorCal Nova yearbook. Recommendations to:

tire/wheel/alignment shops,
paint/body shops,

I would either have Ricky (S&S Automotive) build my race stuff, or Tom Weaver build my street stuff (Weavers Auto & Marine, 3555 First Street, Livermore, 925-606-9826)...after all Ricky used to build Tom's Top Alcohol boat engines.

One of my friends is one of the Machinist at Tech Craft in Livermore. He worked at Dima Elgens in Redwood City, before Dima sold the shop.

He has been building High Performance Engines for twentyfive years.

I work there on and off and they do all my machining and allow me to use the assembly room when I need to. Dave and Angie are no nonsense people who give you the straight honest truth when it comes to your engine. They know what works and what doesn't And they also have good relationships with S&S and Al Hubbard and others in the business.

Dave does all the machining IN HOUSE and also has an engine dyno. Angie does all cylinder head work and has a flow bench and her head porting skills are second to none! The quality of work is excellent and they pay attention to detail.

Nothing but good things to say about S&S .. Rickey ... his bothers.. have taken good care of my stuff. They did my short block in both my 383's.

Over the years I have heard nothing but good things about Angie and the porting work.

It all happend about the same time that the economy was sinking and the house payment on his house was going up. He closed business and walked from the big ol' house he bought and went to work running the shop for this Dave guy.

No that is def not him, this guy is into street rods and has another shop in dublin doing auto electric work.
