Help.. Push button start.. Seems easy and like a dumb question

Hi , I have a toggle panel with a few things hooked up.. None really matter but these 2 and I need some advice please :)

1st) switch (f14 style w/red case and led light) ---hooked up to hei with wire straight from Batt to toggle and from other side toggle to 65k hei. Not runnin off the half power wire that runs off 6volts when started. Anyways it works great because I wanted to have to use key to unlock wheel then flip ignition switch up then push button next to it.. It starts now when I turn key, flip ignition toggle up, then turn key all the way and runs.. (I can pull out key and it stays running until I flip switch down. I like having the key to use!! Just my preference as a street car.

Here's what I need help with!!

2) push button start-- now I know that it's supposed to be a thicker gauge purple wire to cut and wire to one side of toggle? And just 12v power to other?? I cut and tried a few to no avail.. And don't want to fly blind anymore.. It seems so easy a 6 year old could do it.. But for some reason it won't??? What am I doin wrong guys?? Please help!!

I just want to put in key turn to on (not crank) possition, then flip up my LED ignition toggle, and push start button!!! Please help I feel like a dummy cuz I have done this 5 times in my Hondas until I realized Hondas are stupid lol jk it's almost exact to the pic below

Need both purple wires. One to the solenoid on starter and the other purple from neutral safety switch.
That's right but I can't seem to find the good ol neutral saftey switch?

So your sayin there are 2 purple (one with white stripe I think) or to cut in half and use both sides??

Look on top of steering column should have two wires both purple I think!
Thanks I thought that I might end up using both of them.. The neutral saftey switch kinda confuses things a bit lol.. I'll see what I can do tommorw..

One last question if ya know? Don't I need a 12v goin to one side of button? And probably use both purple wires together on one side right?

if your ign switch and neutral safe sw are still wired in the factory configuration, the purple/white wire is activated with 12v when the key is turned to the crank position. that wire then feeds into the neutral safe sw and the solid purple wire feeds out of that sw to the bulkhead then on to the start sol. If you want to keep that set-up, then jump a wire from the ign sw "on" position to the start button (that feeds 12v to the button when key is on) and disconnect the purple/white wire from the ign sw and connect it to the other terminal on the start button (that now feeds the neutral safe sw when start button is pushed). From there, everything is factory wired. Make sense?

Yeah it does actually thank you :/) now I can't promise I won't have this opened up on my phone tommorow reading it a few times lol.. Im no rookie to cars but sometimes wiring isn't my best lol especially when you try to learn and every website just says "it's the purple wire" lol thanks
