Have you checked with heidts for a pan recommendation?

Here is a older thread discussing it

Get rid of those solid mounts and find a set of rubber /urethane interlocking ones .
I ended up mocking mine up with a set 1/4" aluminum spacers and it has been that way for 15 + years with different BBC combos. Plus you really don't need power steering with the BBC and hedits front end....... unless you let your wife drive it.....

Nice !
OK, put a mockup block and trans in (no oil pan ) just to see if the trans will fit, and nope cant get the motor mount bolts in with correct dia bolt with the trans bolted on, hits the tunnel! with smaller bolts still no hope of the trans mount fitting in the crossmember. any one have this problem? trans would have to come up a bunch to get the motor bolts in with correct dia bolts.
Im not sure but I was thinking that any th400 install ( even stock SBC location ) will require hammer to tunnel mods and a highly modified or aftermarket cross member. I think some guys even cut the tunnel and build and aftermarket piece.
