Just wondered if any of you guys with an Alston front clip have used any other header other than Alstons and been happy with the fit. I was thinking that the hugger headers for sale might work out but I have never seen them mounted on a motor in an Alston clip. My application is a 63' Nova wagon with a 350/700 r4. The Alston headers are nice but are now over $600. hence the search for something a bit less expensive. I have 66' ht with a zz4 /700r4 installed into an Alston front clip using their headers (Alston) and it is still a very close fit.

I have seen the Hooker 2243 work with minor denting .
they only work with auto trans.

Using a 700r4 can cause issues with many brands of headers, including mine.

I have a set of your headers for a SBC in a '66 SS with your front clip. I haven't installed them yet. I have a 700r4 trans. What problems are there with header fitment with this combination and what are the remedies?

what happens is many folks lower the rear of the engine to avoid modifying
the floor on a 700r4 swap. Not only does that mess up your drive line angle, it
will cause the headers to interfere on the lower control arms, upper a-arm mounts, & frame.
