I have a 1971 Nova. I anticipate some small clearance issues once I convert the manual steering to power. I was told that you can get small block chevy frame mounts that are approximately 1 inch taller than the stock mount. This is suppose to either eliminating or minimizing the clearance issues.:thumbsup: :thumbsup:

I know header clearance is always an issue, but I am trying to eliminate banging up a set of new headers.

Is anyone familiar with them and if so do you know where I can get them.

There are big block mount brackets that bolt to the sub frame to move the engine right about a 1 inch. Will require a different or re-drilled cross member.

1 inch higher? This will cause more problems!

A good quality header should not have any issues!

Summit's small block headers that sell for like $85 fit with no issues at all. Now, big blocks have more header fittment issues than small blocks. The main area is the bolts that hold the top cover onto the steering box. I remove them and replace them with button head cap screws and it gains me the clearnace I need most of the time.
