I got my Vortec heads back and they now have larger valves and better springs. they also now have guide plates installed. I have some Comp self-aligning 1.52's and just wanted to make sure there wouldnt be any issues with the arms and guide plates. Thanks

Hardened pushrods ....?

Would be acceptable in either application correct? Im thinking I may just pull the guide plates and keep them in case I want to switch to something else later. Be easier also since I already have the self align rockers

Since were on the subject. I am running guide plates on my BBC with Aluminum roller rockers, am I in the wrong?

By the way, I DO have hardened pushrods.
Sounds typical on the BBC. You just don't want to run BOTH guide plates AND self-aligning rockers. It's one or the other. Otherwise you run a pretty good chance of binding the valvetrain up and causing all kinds of headaches.

As for the pushrods, you really can't go wrong getting the beefiest thing available. Yes, you can go overboard and waste some money on a mild-low RPM application, but it will hurt NOTHING.

It's not a problem unless your roller rockers are self aligning. These have guide washers on the side of the roller tip that keeps the rocker centered on the valve stem. More than likely yours are not self aligning.
