Once you figure out what model alternator you want, I would check out a Big A store or something similar for a remanufactured delco-remy unit. They can be much cheaper there than ordering through the mail. If you need a cross-reference, try the following application guide:

Excel remanufactured the Delcotron I recently bought, which I got for $37 from a Big A franchise.

Any parts store. Ask for an alternator for a 1984 Camaro 305 HO. It is a 94 amp unit with a v-belt pulley so it will bolt right in.
