Greg,
Is this an aftermarket frame or an original one that's been rechromed?
The reason for this quesiton is that when I rebuilt my vent windows on my 66, those aftermarket frames are jacked up bad. The upper pivot point sits 3/8" lower than that of the original one, the frame itself sits at a downward angle in relation to the original one.
I wrote up a report to Chevy 2 Only a couple of years ago and explained in great detail on the errors of the "overseas" stuff.
The aftermarket seals work perfectly but, the rest of the stuff is not even close. If you can remember if you but the "tang" washer and plastic washer above the top end of the vent frame?
As looking from the top of the frame down to the locking nut below the vent window spring it should be like so:
Upper tang washer ( this has a lobe on it to keep it from spinning a 360 )
Upper plastic washer
Vent window frame
Lower plastic washer
Spring
Locking tang washer
Nut
If that's correct on your vent windows, then it's the frame.. Sorry.
Dan
