Roadkill Garage used hi amp relays and fuses for both starter and main power Positives from trunk batt. Episode showed diagrams and installation. Genius idea. No power in main cables til keyed on.

When I ran my 1/0 welding cable from my trunk to the starter I encased it in 3/4" heater hose. It would have to short through the heater hose and through the cable insulation. And I run a 300 amp fuse at the battery. I feel pretty safe.

Funny you brought that up. I ran my 1/0 though some old 3/4" braided steel heater core hoses I had laying around. I've got the alternator output wire run though it and then under the headers on the passenger side. I used the old spark plug shield holes in the block to bolt in some Adel clamps to keep things in place.

Back in the day when nitrous was first being used, we would run the braided line inside of rubber lines to hide things.

Yep we cheated a LOT.
