I have a clear glass fuel filter before it hits the fuel pump and noticed it is not consistance full. it gets filled up and a second later its half way then barely enough fuel runnin thru it.

I have a327 bored 0.30 not sure of the cam but its mild., brand ness edelbrock 600 cfm carb. Not sure if its the fuel pump or sending unit. How do I check which one is the culpret? Or is it something else?
My other 63 is always full so I know this is not a good situation.
Any ideas?

fuel pump/sender

Two different things here. the fuel sending unit (inside tank) picks up fuel in tank
It also has the float arm for the gas gauge. The fuel pump (manual I assume?) pulls the fuel out of the tank via the pick up tube which is part of the sending unit. You need to determine if the fuel pressure is correct by connecting a pressure gauge on the fuel line after the fuel pump. the specs. are as follows 6 cyl. 3.5 to 4.5 psi. V=8 5 to 6.5 psi. Volume of fuel 1 pint in 30 to 45 seconds at engine cranking speed with coil wire removed. hope this helps
