Hey Guys
I need some feed back from any car owners 68-72
that are running a big block in it.
Is there any one able to run 225/60/15 tire size up front, without rubbing?
I just replaced the front springs recently, the tires don't rub as much but still do.
appreciate any feed back
thanks
Brian

I have the same questions as Nova Thug, plus...
  • Did you change the front brakes from drums to discs?
  • If so, what kit/parts did you use (as some disc brake kits will push the front wheels/tires about 1/2" closer to the fender).
P.S. I have a 74 Nova with a small block, stock front springs, and factory disc brakes... and I have 225/55/16 tires on my front wheels with no rubbing at all. My front wheels are 7" wide with a 4.25" backspace.

What is your backspacing? At 225/60/15 is not too much tire. Do you know how wide your axle is? Is it the right axle for your car?

If everything suspension wise is stock or stock-ish (control arms, spindles, etc.), then a 15x8 in front would most likely be too wide depending on backspace. Can you confirm the width and backspace of your front wheels? Also, do you have disc or drums in front?

He's rubbing in front, not the back. Plus he's running 255/60-15 in the rear.

My 68 has an inline 6, and I run a 225/60-15 on the front with no issues.

I do have Vi-King coil overs that gives me some up/down adjustment room

On the rear I have a good fit using 245/60-15 tires.
