Hello, The front Seal on the 350 transmission keeps gushing out Transmission fluid. About a month ago we replaced the front seal and it gave out again last night.

What Keeps causing the oil leaks? It's the original Transmission, Should I get another one?

I'm only guessing here, but is it possable the vent tube on top is stopped up?

Is there a groove around the neck of the converter where it plugs into the tranny? If so, get a new converter.....

If the converter is scored or groved and it's causing the seal failures you can install a seal saver on the converter. Much cheaper than a new converter. Whoever changed the seal should have noticed it and dealt with it before putting it back together. Good luck. Leaks can be very annoying.

Thank for the quick response. Yes, The torque converter had grooves and scratches where the seal goes. I was warned that the the converter was bad during the last repair, I guess I learned the hard way.

Completely with out ****$, so what do I look for when I buy a seal saver for the torque converter.


Where is the vent tube?
