Sometimes we have to go backwards to go forwards. I had an issue with my drivers door. Don't ask. Today a friend and I worked on the door gaps and repair on the door. I knew my hood looked good but also knew that it had an area with mucho bondo and was starting to show. We decided that as long as I was painting the door and fender, I might as well do the hood now. I had an extra hood to use and we started there by fitting it to the cowl and then fenders/grill. It looks pretty good now. With that done and the door adjusted for gaps, we had to trim and weld the front edge of the door to open up a comfortable gap so the door would open without hitting the fender. That went well and all is ready for a little mud, primer and paint. It looks like we are going backwards but it will be much better when done to fix a poor prep job on the last paint job.
