I've been working on this car for about the past 8 months. I have all of the motor built and have most of my money into that. I'm trying to redo the floor the smartest way for the money. I had to cut everything out from right behind the front seat to fit the narrowed ladder bar frame I'm 99% sure that I will have to build a new tunnel, so im guessing I will end up starting at the firewall. The Jegs floor kit is in the $700 by the time you ship it and didn't really want to spend that kind of money if i didn't have to.. Any ideas?

Buy some tin, make some templates, start cuttin, fittin, n weldn. I raised mine about an inch to give more clearance underneath for exhaust etc.

Did you build some type of framing underneath the floor? I was told if you rolled beads into the floor you needed a small about of braces under the floor? To me this seems like it will be weak, but I've never done it.

I put some 1" square tube braces underneath for the seats as well as some diagonal round tubing to brace the frame. I ran 2X3 tubing all the way from the rear clip crossmember to the front clip and there's a few "outriggers" to the outside of the rockers. Here's a shot from underneath where you can see most of what I'm talking about.
