[Novaman_63]

I am looking for a center console for my '63. I have found decent ones but they are for automatics. Would it be an easy process to change the auto console to one that fits a 4 or 5 speed standard? Does the automatic console just have a different top "plate" than what a standard console would have?
Does this make any sense???

You make perfect sence, but unfortunetely, they only came in automatics with a powerglide. There are some that have a removeable plate, I have seen some guys have a nice piece of aluminum fabbed up to fit the hole with other shift pattern markings. Sorry for the bad news...

Chevy made it even worse by showing a drawing of a 4 speed console in the 64 Nova assembly manual. To my knowledge, no one has ever found a factory produced 4 speed console for 62-64 Novas.

Note that I have a few photos of a factory console that someone adapted to a 4 speed. I don;t know how they did it but it might give you some ideas.
