From the info I have, my (new to me) 1970 was most likely restored 15+ years ago. In an effort to get a quieter sounding ride on the interior, I was in the process of removing the carpet to install one of those modern stick on, foil backed insulation materials. When I noticed the carpet was laid over a whiteish insulation material, approximately 1/4” thick. Everything appears to be in great shape, so wondering, should I rip it out and go modern? Which material would be most effective? Thanks for your help.

Insulation

What he said, times 3.
I have the foil backed black sticky stuff, Dynamat,
but that white stuff looks like a nice addition.
