I didnt think you actually could match numbers on a 66. They didnt match the blocks to the vin. Am I wrong?Read the add carefully, "not numbers matching".

Yes, in 1966 several thousand Sport Coupes (11637 VIN) received the L79 option. You don't see many around today, but they do show up from time to time. This Ebay car doesn't appear to be one of them.Has anyone ever seen a 116 vin nova with an L79 option? Check out this car on ebay.

Some of the 1966 blocks had the VIN stamped next to the suffix code. There was no requirement to do this, so most don't have it. You can matchup numbers if you have the original POP and a VIN stamped block. In Canada, GM's Vintage Dept. can provide both the VIN and the engine suffix code.I didnt think you actually could match numbers on a 66. They didnt match the blocks to the vin. Am I wrong?
