Hey gentleman,

I've always been a chevelle guy but loved the novas. I finally have a Nova and was just thinking that it is probably about 1000 pounds lighter than my chevelle.

My Chevelle has a heathy AFR headed 509 thats never been to the track. But for argument sake if my 3900 pound Chevelle ran 10.50 with that motor whats it good for in my little nova at say 2900?

Anyone know the math

in the 1/4 you should gain 6 to 7 tenths.

the basic rull of thumb is every 100 lbs = a tenth. this is a ball park but generaly close. although it seems the faster you go the farther off it is. lol. hope this helps! i would say it should do a mid to high 9 easy. but thats of course it hooks and everything works.:yes:

Thanks guys, pretty much what i was thinking, basically drop a second off the time slip. That 509 would be a hell of a beast in my 67!

My wife's 67 ran mid 7 sec 1/4 miles @ 180+ at class weight of 3,000# with a 632, so you should make 9's.
