I have a '72, can anybody tell me what the seal material that was running down the drip rail, glue maybe. I'm removing it and it seems to be rock hard and tough to get out, petrified seems more like it. I would like to redo it but not sure what it is. I noticed that it might have some red primer covering it. Thx

Over the years the factory stuff hardens and can be a major pain to remove. I took a 90 degree pick and small screw driver to dig most of mine out . After getting all I could I sand blasted the rest. You just have to be careful not to heat the metal with the blaster. We used seam sealer before painting the car to replace the old stuff I dug out.
