What is the best paper like material to use between the door panel and the door, to keep moisture out?

Sounds silly, but I thinking of using tar paper.

Here's what I did. Went to Lowes and bought a roll of tan, heavy weight construction paper. The kind that's put down on a finished floor to protect it while work is being done - about $10. I took the old originals and traced & cut them out. Then I painted them with POR 15. Sounds crazy, but they came out great and aren't going to fall a part if & when they get wet. Read about this in one of the resto magizines I get.
