I really dont have that much into that BBC. and since it is a 396 its pretty hard to sell. I listed it for 1600 but I know there's no way id get that. Its 60 over, stock rods, used forged pistons. unless someone was doing a matching number resto there's not that many people that would wanna build a 396 that i know of. you know the saying about displacement...

I really would like to get cash for it but i also need a motor for my wifes 57 chevy. Im really not looking for a high horsepower motor for her car, since itll just be a cruiser.

the guys is going to check to see what heads are on it. Im hoping that it has 799 heads on it. After some research the 05 and up 5.3 have those head on them so it does it may be worth a shot since they are the same as 243 head.

well im a bit disappointed that i found out that the 5.3 had the 862 heads on it not the 799's. I guess from what i read the 799's only came on the HO versions of the 05 and up 5.3.

So i decided not to do the swap but i was pretty close to sealing the deal. After doing some research. 862 heads didnt come on the 2008 silverado, they would have the 799's or 243's. 862's came on the 4.8 and 5.3 on engines 99-07. And since theres no way to see if its in fact a 4.8 or 5.3 by just looking at it. i decided to back out. Not even taking the chance.

But i did come accross this bit of info for you guys building a 5.3 or 6.0 truck motor or in the market to buy one. Check it out.
