I'm ready to buy a radiator with electric fans for my 62 Nova. I have a Checkered Racing front end with 350/350 combo. Since I am starting with nothing what type radiator should I go with? I know it originally had a down flow but does it even matter? I'll be using electric fans and shroud.

The advantage of a crossflow radiator is that it puts the radiator cap on the low pressure side of the radiator.

Plus what I've read is it forces the fluid through twice.
It only goes through once. If it's a dual pass radiator it goes through the upper half of the tubes then the lower half.

You can drain a crossflow radiator by siphoning the antifreeze into a bucket with some rubber tubing. The tubing will reach all the way down to the bottom tank unlike the down flow, so no mess when taking it apart.
