I was going to post this in the BS section but figured you folks may know more on the subject. Long story short... my daughter brings home a crawfish that her classroom had as a science project saying that she wants to keep it as a pet.

1) I love animals but don't want any pets.
2) It smells.
3) I'm pretty sure people eat these, right?
4) Its a CRAWFISH!

Here's my question.... when can I expect this thing to die?

Disclaimer: No, I am not an animal-hater so please don't yell at me like I'm trying to off the Spotted Owl or make the dolphins extinct. Just trying to avoid housing a creature that sits around in his own poopy-water and has A LOT of legs. Please Help!

I found a couple of sites that say they will live to be about 1-1/2 - 2 years old.

I read that the humane way is to freeze them, but the tastiest way is a pot of boiling water with cajun spices!!:yes:
