I pulled the heads off the crate engine today and found remnants of the what I think are the umbrella seals laying in the heads. They are little springs about 1-1/4 lg and maybe .040 in dia. Just like I read in some of the forums these engines had valvetrain clearance issues with the L-82 cam and crushed the valve seals. Need some advice on how to proceed. Since I found 2 of these so far plus chunks of plastic which I am guessing is the rest of the seal that got smashed should I drop the pan on the engine or what would be the best thing to do. I am worried that this junk is going to be moving around the engine tearing things up once I get the new heads on the car.
