Hello, I have a 64 four door. I found some rust on the drivers side A pillar while trying to fix some (what looks like) some small collision damage. It looks like I might have to replace to pillar or fix it with a lot of cutting and welding. I would appreciate and recommendations or advice.

If just the outer A pillar skin and / or window channel is rusty, grind / zip wheel cut out the outer skin, make a new piece in a metal break (or have someone do that) and weld in. Clean up your welds and off you go. It is a lot of work, but not a monumental repair.

Note, that skin is held in by a million spot welds and difficult to remove off a donor without destroying.

If the inner structure of the pillar is toast, you need to find a good, complete unit and stitch it in. That requires bracing the roof and greater precision in your repair.
