Has anyone ever tried to utilize an older (68-72) door panel retrofited to the 73-74 door? I know the window crank is in a different location, but since repros for the 73-74 are about $400, I thought i'd ask before I give it a shot myself.

The major obstacle is that the '73 panels are not intended for use with wing/vent windows, while the earlier panels are. In '73, the doors went to a one-piece glass and eliminated the wing window assembly. Other than that, it shouldn't be terribly hard; the repop door panels for my '71 didn't even COME punched for the window crank and door handles, so you can easily just cut them wherever you need them. Best of luck, it'd certainly be different!

Guess I'd like to know if the 72 and older door panels worded on the 73/73 doors and what problems were incountered.

I ended up building my own panels from some hardboard, foam backing and a strip of curved metal flashing for the top rail.

You'll need armrests too as they are pre-formed into the 73/74 panels.

Don't need no stinkin' arm rests, just throw yer arm on the sill...
