Just wondering does it hurt the top to leave it down for a long period of time or does it need to be put back up? thanks Joe

I leave mine down for the majority or the time :yes:, seems to be just fine when I put it up :turn: (power top)
I installed the top myself a few years ago
I use a carcover when its parked to keep the dust and spidies :eek: out of the interior

Doesn't hurt to leave it down for extended periods when it's warm weather. Tops operate way better when they're warm. If you're in a cool fall and winter climate, always put the top up when the car goes into hibernation.

I leave mine down a lot in the summer but when winter comes I put it up to keep the wrinkles out of it.
If its been down for a while, I put it about 95% up and let it sit there for about 15 minutes to remind the wrinkles they arent supposed to be there before latching it down.
I LEAVE MINE DOWN ALL THE TIME, :yes:
BUT..............

I DON'T HAVE A TOP :eek::eek::eek:

And thats the best advice... JR

You gotta get it up to keep the wrinkles out!

OK, I went there.
My top is around 6 months old and if I leave it down for a couple of weeks you can tell it has shrunk up and is harder to close. It would be a lot worse in the winter time. I always keep mine up unless I am going to drive it in a day or two. I guess it all depends on the material your top is made of.
