Have a 73 nova with a 454 over .030 781 heads and th400. Im pretty heavy at about 280. So i wanted to look into coil overs but with my weight, bbc and 73 big azz bumpers. I was wondering whats a good starting point for spring rate. Plus im running 18s all the way around if that makes a difference. Found a good price for QA1 coils but the rate is 550.

I have a 67 with heidts subframe bbc aluminum heads with 600lb springs no radiator or bumper on it and the adjusters are all the way down so 550s should get you down on the front with room to go up if needed. I might need to go to a 550 to get mine down a little lower. i'll check after all the weight is on the front.

The cheap 550 springs were gone by the time i got my check. I got the 650 springs instead. They were $280 from speedway. I figured the iron heads, big azz 73 bumper and my 275 weight would be enough to justify the 650 springs. My original plan was to get the car as low a possible but i recently liked the car raised in the air
