I'm having issues with a Holley 650 double pumper. Engine seems to flood or not start. It's was on the car when I bought it and it's given me problems since day one. Part of the problem is that I'm new at tuning a carb. The other problem is the carb was hooked up incorrectly, probably missing parts, and not jetted correctly/wrong size power valve.

Current Setup:
350 block
Comp Cams 12-250-3
Stock Heads 1.84/1.50
Hooker Competition Long tube Headers
Edelbrock Performer Intake
TH350 auto trans
3k Stall
MSD Ignition w/ no vacuum adv.
27inch slicks w/stock gears

I was told the Edelbrock Performer RPM intake would be better suited for the Cam. My brother has one laying around so I'm going to swap that (assuming that's a good choice).

He also has a new Edelbrock 650 carb with an electric choke if I want it. With my setup will 650 be enough CFM? Is the electric choke needed? (i live in VA, hot summers, cold winters).

Any reason why I shouldn't switch the intake or carb? Anything else I should know before? Any issues I should expect?
