This may be a dumb question but does a 74 nova have a choke wire for electric choke? It’s an original 6 cylinder converted to v8. I found a blue wire and a green wire in the general area of the carb. Plan on buying a different carb just want one with the right choke setup.

Chances are the Dark Green is for the temperature sensor, the Dark Blue is for the oil sensor, and there may be another wire (Dark Green-White) that went to an Idle Stop Solenoid.

The 74's I have owned, but all have been V8's, is they did not have an electric choke. While you could add an electric choke, maybe test out the Dark Green-White wire if it's present and see if it has voltage only when the key is in the run position and dead in all other key positions and if it is, check to see if it is going through one of the fuses in the fuse block. If it is then this could be used for an electric choke.

While not traced out, this diagram contains the Idle Stop Solenoid Wiring:
