I’m installing a CBR rack along with a LS conversionI’m using a PS pump from a Truck with a intergrated reservoir.

The lines at the rack are 6an so I picked up a 16mm to 6an fitting for the PS pressure port and plan to run 6an braided hose (ptfe).

Not sure how to handle the Return line at the PS pump. It is just a plastic nipple and it is larger in diameter than a 6an line so I can’t just put a hose finisher and clamp the hose to it.

Any ideas? I was thinking about using a tube nut to an fitting but wasn’t sure how that would work with plastic?

Any other thoughts on how to handle? I like the idea of keeping braided hose and fittings here but I’m not married to it for the return line, keep in mind the CBR rack side will remain a 6an fitting.

My return line is hose clamped to tube on power steering pump. The supply line I had made up at the local hydralic hose maker in my town . Both hoses are the same rubber material they use for hydralic hoses.

How did you handle the 6an fitting (banjo) for the return at the rack? Also do you know what size hose you used?

The hose place put the an fitting on the hose and crimped it on just like any fitting. I would have to measure the hose but it was around 1/2 inch outside aporox.

Starting to wonder if I should dump the SS braided hose for the return line. Pretty sure I can get some 7/16 hose to slip over the PS pump hose barb.
- note 3/8’s feels to small to get over the barb… but maybe!

Not alot of pressure to worry about so maybe I can just run a high pressure fuel hose.

Run the 3/8 Rubber line for the return and just run a black hose clamp and be done.

Thanks for the replies, dumped the braided RETURN line and went with hose. I gotta stop trying to be fancy and just get this girl back to the track!

You can absolutely run a rubber line on the return side. You can also cut the nipple off where it joins the boss on the tank. Then drill (carefully) and tap (NPT) and screw in a fitting. Be careful when you drill as there is a baffle a short distance inside the tank.

I have a GM type II pump going to be fs in about a month. Came with my CBR rack. Getting a new one with my serp belt kit so there will be one extra.
