This is a Great post. It's so friggin simple and i never once thought about this. I have use wood to get the back space, but never thought of rolling it thru out the tub and using the wheel rotation. Car folks are Great, we think up the most basic and hard core stuff it never cesis to amaze me.

How bout shock mounts? With 15's they almost rub with 8 in wide rims.

You could modify your shock mounts to look like this. I cut the "ears" off where the shock bolts to the plate, then welded on some Grade 5 bolts (7/16-14, I think they were 5" or 6" long). You have to grind down one of the facets on the head of the bolt so the whole shank sits flat against the plate. I moved the mounting point up by about an inch, and it gave me plenty of clearance inside the wheel for the bottom of the shock.

Ignore the crappy weld job. Another member here did something like this and his came out much nicer.

Thanks for the pictures and advice. Will the Calvert springs move the mount inside the wheel too since they are single leaf?

No, the Calvert springs mount in the factory locations.
