Has anybody installed one of these billet column shifters yet?

I've got one and looks totally different on the one end where it mates up with the spring in the column.

I've tried just about every trick under the sun but was wondering from the masses on what did you do to make it work?

CORRECTION....

I just looked on Billet Specialties web site ( and I wish I would have seen this earlier ) and they call out the same column shifter on that site I posted above as 1973-1994 vice 1968 to 1994...

Apparently, the column shifter is sitting a little more shallow on the 73 and up vice the 68-72 model years. IF anybody has any insight to why this is, I would love to know..
