i desided to go back to a mechanical fan. i wanna use an aluminum one. what is the best one that you can get? i have a long water pump on a small block. the one i have one it now is a 4 blade stock one.

The best mechanical fan was the 7 blade model used on 79 Nova police cars, and I bought the last one several years ago. Unfortunately, it was on Steve Magnante's Duster when it sold a few years ago. GM quit making them.
I tried plastic, aluminum, stainless.....none came close to keeping my engine cool until I remembered reading about the police car unit. It was heavy as hell, but it worked!!

I used a 6 blade from Chevy2only, worked like a dream, no clutch direct drive....
