If I walk into NAPA and want to get a stock manual steering box for a 72, does anyone know what the ratio is? Is there any other year and or model box that I should look at that will drop right in, but with a fast ratio?
Well, I went out and bought the 16:1 manual box from ground up restorations with a new pitman arm and coupler. WOW, what a difference. The steering is awesome. I would hightly recommend this to anyone with an older manual box
WOW. A 16:1 manual box can be turned when not moving? The standard ratio for 1968-1969 is 24:1 and I find it hard to turn at a stand-still. The 72 had a 28:1 . I dont know when they changed . 70 or 71 or 72?
