me beating up on a honda it doesnt matter anyways i red lite on him and gave him the win :mad: but i still smoked him :yes:

mid 12 is a nice time, good job. was that honda turbo or na?

yeah those where his budys i dont know him yes i think it was turboed cause he had some trumpit looking thing sticking outta the head light yeah my dial was a 12.27 when i red lite i said screw it and drove it down the track i think i lifted at 1000ft mark . no but your right i need to learn to drive better thats imberissing :eek:

cool thanks i tried to make it look like he was going to pass me so i lifted and got back in it and still got him ............................ doesnt matter i red lit :eek: he was there with another turboed honda that was running low 10s

nah man i was joking about the driving bad. if you don't redlight you aren't trying hard enough.

i knew a guy (drove a honda) he went to the track every day we had races.
all he cared about was cutting a perfect light and his 60ft time
he was never more than .02 away from perfect. most of the time he didn't redlight, but sometimes he did. this was back when carlsbad track was still there. early 2000's. he'd race at racelegal.com races on friday, carlsbad on saturday/sunday. guy beat the crap out of his car.
i think the best he ran was a 12.9 at carlsbad. this was n/a on a gutted civic coupe.

i remember the first time i went to the track my RT was over 1 second most of the time. i had issues. fixed them now.

i had it dynoed it was making 500 hp at 6800 but i think ive got the wrong converter and gearing

cool, i'm trying to figure out how much power i need to make my nova faster than the turbo crx i sold to buy my nova.
turbo crx was in the low 12's on street tires. never ran at a timed track, so i don't know the exact time.

well with the right set up you can run faster than your crx ever did i would say a gm performance parts zz4 would put you in the 12s with a 3000 converter and 3.55s now with more converter like a 4000 and some 4.30s you could run in the elevens and do nice little wheelies so you could base yor build up off of that thats why im saying ive got the wrong set up

right now i have a target master 350 that i'm either going to freshen up and turbo or build into a 383.
i'm leaning towards the turbo setup, just because you don't see many turbo novas running around. the other reason is because i'm good with setting up turbo cars cheap. my crx's turbo setup was under $500 and it was all quality stuff.
some used stuff + some oem stuff + build every thing you can = cheap power

ah yes that is a major plus for you i would turbo a 383 try to make around 400 hp before the turbo then put 15 or so punds in it and walla you have a very fast little nova remember with all that stuff under the hood the worse it gets for safety but im sure you are aware of that also wanna work on the whoa before the go in my opinion anyways

Good job, I'll be beating on some pretty quick turbo/nitrous imports out here in SoCal pretty soon. The goal for my wagon is 11.5 on motor and 10.8 on n2o. :yes:

The tuners at my track had reaction times of like 2 seconds and most were 14-17 second cars.
yeah them guys have to build up that boost to get them to go that fast i like being mean and taking my time to stage:devil: i know im a jerk but its fun watching them honda guys burn down at the start.:devil: some times i tree the hell out of them and all they see are square tail lights :yes:
