Hi All,

My fiance and I were trying to tighten down a replacement battery cable (the one that goes to the starter). As he torqued it down, something snapped off. It was a copper looking bolt with a wire attached.

We have no idea what this is or what the battery cable attaches to...

Is there anyone out there familiar with early/mid 70's Olds engines?

All we know is something broke :(

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If in doubt..Take pictures for reference....Two bolts hold the starter to the block......one will be short...The other about two inch's longer....The red battery cable will mount to the large post on the solenoid....There are two smaller terminals...one will be a bit smaller than the other on the solenoid also....just reconnect them the way you take them off....And don't tighten them down so tight...They're very soft....use lock/star washers that fit..And go easy on them...
