Just got a different engine that will be installed in the near future. Just wondering if the 1 3/4 Hooker S/C fenderwell headers will be big enough for the new bullet. It has AFR 227 heads Victor Super with 1050 dom in a 3000 pound 66 nova.

A little more info on the engine might help.

They will work but so would some 1 7/8 headers. There will just be give and take with each size.

They should work just fine, I had the same headers on my 67 with a 434 sbc,
dart pro-1 230 heads and 13.5-1 compression and the car weighed 3100 lbs and a 1050 dominator , 3 inch exhaust with flomaster mufflers and dumps, and it moved the "F" OUT

Hooker's 1-7/8" have dimples to clear the bolts--I use adaptor plates with mine..no dimples even if you had 2". Mine are stepped 1-3/4" to 1-7/8" to 2" into 3-1/2" collectors with spears and cones and all sorts of magic stuff...the collectors are $400 alone.

I was "ordered" to go for 2" on my 377 (not allowed to run nos with my 1 5/8 I had).....
Heck of a job to build headers. Just one side took me almost some 5-6 hours or so (done today)...

And I had to do half of the adapter plates as well.

Tomorrow I do the other side. Hopefully this side will go faster as I now "know how to do it" :)

Plus those headers have the #5 cylinder tube go over the top of #7 so there is no plug problem. I wish they would have done this for the street version!
