Hey guys. Dropping an ididit column in my 62' and figure I may as well throw in a new (Not rebuilt) steering box at the same time. I see quite a few places sell Lares Corp. new boxes in both stock and 16:1 close ratio. Anyone used this company and one of their new boxes? If you have a 16:1 ratio box how hard is it to turn from a dead stop? I know about all the various R&P kits available but for now I am sticking to a steering box. Thanks!

Have you ever driven a car (not a Nova) with power steering that didn't have the belt installed, or a faulty pump? That's what the 16:1 box is going to feel like. 99% won't like it.

Having said that, the 16:1 box Is a great addition to a Nova with the stock hydraulic cylinder assist power steering. I've had that setup in my 67 for quite some time.
