It's a little work but you could make a shim the required thickness out of some aluminum plate purchased at the local hardware store. Trace it out and start cuttin and drilling. Good luck

Yes I could. But I don’t know the correct thickness yet. Need to try it on and see what

See if you even need them first. I have installed that kit before and it didn't need them. As far as getting them to work, the key to everything with those brakes is the parking brake cables need to be adjusted correctly first.

Yes. You are so correct. We still haven’t gotten it right. After many tries! The rear brakes seem to be dragging. Getting the parking brake lever right is super hard. Any tips that you can recommend?

Everything has to move freely. If the cables hang up even a little bit the brakes drag. I used new cables. You need to have the cables adjusted so the brakes almost drag.

I have new cables. Without the cables hooked up I can’t turn the wheel. Too much pressure on the disc already. I thought I had it hooked up with the correct 1/8” spacing with the ebrake lever but now it doesn’t have any clearance. Took off the bracket and still rotors are tight.

Maybe a dumb question. Is the wheel rubbing the caliper? Mine hit with that kit. Just a thought.

So installed, can you move the parts to find the clearance needed and make them up so your rotors are centered in the caliper/pads?? Not a difficult procedure really. Reverse engineer the issue and you'll have your answer in no time.

No. The wheels are off with this problem. And the parking brake bracket unattached. And I have 17” wheels.

I thought it was a centering issue that’s why I was looking for the shims but after removing the wheels and unhooking the parking brake mechanism I don’t have any clearance to either side of the rotor. Both pads are flush against the rotor.

So that kit uses a spring-loaded arm for the parking brake... Do you have the correct rotors? Unless the piston in the calipers are pushing out, I cannot understand how the pads would come into contact with the rotor unless the piston is out of the caliper or you have the wrong pads or rotors... Any thoughts on that?
