Any suggestion for a custom enclosure!

Ok so I been looking on the site to see how some folks on here have done theyre boxes for subs, Ive seen some really nice ones that are above my bugdet and others that did not appeal to me. I wanted to see if anyone has pictures of other ways to do an enclosure. I wanted to see if its rational to cut between the 6x9 holes in the back (12x12 hole and make the box in there)? Or if I should just make a simple square box in the trunk. Any and all replies would be greatly apreciated! appreciated!!!

I'm not a big fan of chopping up original pieces on the car including the original radio section on the dash bezel for aftermarket. I would just suggest a custom box though. It is made to your liking and is really inexpensive to build. All you need to know is some basic knowledge of how to use a tape and jigsaw. Thus being said all you need is some (2x pre cut sheets)MDF from home depot about $7.50 a sheet. Also I found a local audio store and purchased the speakerbox felt(1 yard is plenty) and carpet adhesive from them. The felt cost $8.00 a yard and the adhesive cost about $4.00 a can. I built the custom box in my fiancee camaro. I will try to post pics of it later. Anyways the box cost me about $27.00 plus my own labor. Also the speaker cut for a 12 will be 11" inches round, the best way is to make a template from a existing box. Hope this helps a little.

It looks profesionally made, it really looks good! But what I was looking for visuals for ideas on my nova! Im thinking of putting one 10' sub, I dont want to loose the trunk space!
Sub frequencies are unidirectional so you don't need to port through the package tray. You can make a box if you're handy or you can buy a premade. Set it between the wheel wells and you're done.

I bought a 10 sub box from the local walmart store, put in an infinity sub and a good amp. Sounds and feels clean, though not over powering. Cost about $40.00 and no hassles.

Nothing special .75 cubic feet, carpeted with a hole in it:rolleyes:
Have you picked out a sub yet? Each sub has a recommendation for the volume of the enclosure. The subs design determines how much space it needs to perform at its best.

If you are just looking to fill the low end void, hit your local stereo shoppe and check out the small subs. They also carry small finished boxes, often for less $'s than you could build one for.
