He moved the junk just far enough back to almost see the sides of the car. Couldn't quite find enough room to move the 2 kayaks piled on
the front end. Front fenders are inside the car. |Looks like the Nova front seat behind the Porsche. He should have called Sadie to come
and move her junk out so he could take pictures of his Nova. Nice that it's already won a trophy. Guess that tote box on the trunk lid was
too heavy to move. Wonder how much for the Porsche Targa? Good luck with the sale LOL.

Loon Lake, WA, Bob.

1 more hour's work to get it outside, take some pictures of the VIN/Cowl Tag and to make your case for it's being a rare, higher dollar car. Say that bids end at $10K as pictured, how much more would they have been for that hour?

At any rate, for someone willing to take on the project, you have a very desirable Nova in a great color combo and a big block 4-speed to boot. I'd try to bottom feed on the car should it not meet reserve and find out what it was really all about, and how much it would take to get it away from the lake.

Geez Bob, cut the guy some slack. He's had 2 back surgeries, he can't be hauling all that stuff off to take pictures. 😁

I really don't understand why people can't just make a little extra effort. When I sold my rotisserie, I put it together and washed it before I took pictures. I got asking price in 2 hours (Probably should have asked for more.)
The thing that cheeses me off about this is the "Not Camaro, Chevelle, Corvette, Challenger, or Charger" keyword spamming. Thanks for making it that much more difficult to find stuff buddy!

Rare doesn't mean worth more. I don't think many would pay more for an L34 than a similar L78 just because there are less of them. There were less than 10,000 3rd gen Novas with the L4, but I don't see a hot market for them...

It remains a factory big block in Cherry Red with a manual trans. Not an L78, but I don't think it loses that much to the 375 HP car in the scheme of things. If so, then the 25 HP shave could be a bargain?
I’m pretty close I should go take a look🤔

At this point in the muscle car era, advertised horsepower ratings were mired in a lot of smoke and mirrors. The marketing departments of the Detroit automakers had most of the say in
what horsepower ratings were advertised. No way a lowly Chevy II could be seen to have the same or more horsepower than an equivalent Chevelle or Camaro, even if in reality it did. It's a
miracle the 350 HP 1966 Chevy II L79 was ever allowed to exist. The Chevrolet marketing department made sure it was never promoted for what it really was. The optics of a Chevy II having
Chevelle horsepower wasn't good. The advent of the upcoming '67 Camaro sealed the deal and the 350 HP L79 Chevy II was gone. Same for the L78 Nova in 1970 when the 396 engine
became a 402, but continued to be called a 396 and listed with the same horsepower and torque rating as the '68 and '69. Many believe the 1970 L78 Nova was closer to 400 than 375 HP.
Horsepower ratings in this era were largely determined by GM management and marketing departments and frequently had little relation to what they really were. There may have been a lot larger gap between the L34 and L78 Nova than 25 horsepower.

Years back I went to look at my son's 1970 L-78 it was in a basement of an old house about a mile from house. an electrician friend of mine was doing some work for the gal who owned it since 1974 it was covered up in the corner of the basement next to stair well and you all could see was the front fender, and the fender above the marker light was 396. the gal said was for sale so my buddy called me, I am not third generation guy! but my buddy is so we went look at it. the original 396 was removed in favor of a small block in 1976 this was her daily driver!! the car still retains the four speed, 12 bolt with CBT 3:55 positive traction, am eight track stereo tape player, bucket seats, console with gauges and high rpm tachometer in the dash. the gal traded the original 396 for the small block and the install. she lost track the original 396 after a few years and she knew that she screwed up!! she found another 396 or should I say 402 close in dates that came with the car when I bought it. I gave her $6500.00 for the car which I thought was fair back then. it took me two hours to move the car with a floor jack out of the corner of that basement. I did drive it home!! the gal died a year or so after I bought the car I had no idea she was battling cancer. I got a call from the funeral home stating that had some items from her estate for the Nova. I made arrangements to meet with staff at the funeral home with the title and my id, I came home with two boxes of some old trophies and story boards of her 55 Chevy and some paperwork for the Nova. I found a bunch receipts for misc. maintenance and the goods, all of the paperwork from the legit shop which did the engine swap. three pages in great detail of parts and labor. I have not found the broadcast sheets in the car as of yet. interesting car, no exterior decor trim just hood vents and SS taillight panel, front and rear bumper guards, tinted glass. Cranberry Red with black interior. Rally wheels. the car rolled off line in October of 1969.

Now that’s an awesome car story, and very touching this lady remembered you when sorting personal items, probably knowing she was dying, and got you everything she had for that car. Very beautiful car!

I was much more interested in the targa (I owned a ‘69 912 back in the day), the ? trophy, and Sadie’s box than the Nova (I already have one of those).
