I need to install my header bolts in my aluminum heads (spark plugs too) What should I be using as an anti-seize compound? The header bolts are stainless steel. I don't want problems later with stuck fasteners or plugs. Thanks.

You answered your own question. Anti-sieze compond. It comes in a silver plastic bottle.

I belive I used Permatex. You can get it any where.
Its that silver stuff where it get all over every thing just by looking at it.

to me every bolt that goes into any aluminum needs anti seize.

YES anti-seize is a must.

the original non-seize.. is from a CO. called "NEVER SEIZE"

there are a couple of different types.. the most common is Nickel disulfide...

which is what I prefer....

just ask for a nickel based non-seize agent

Thanks guys. A friend of mine was telling me to use the teflon pipe joint compound. While that might work, it didn't seem correct to me. I'll stop off at my local small auto parts store and see what they have.

Just remember.....you don't need to GOOP in on.:no: Just coat the threads lightly. Some people find it easier to get a small detail brush from their local hobby shop to make the job a little cleaner.
