I think a yenko style stripe would look cool on our cars. maybe tweeked from the original but, of that style.

I would just carry it back a little further. Let it slowly taper back to a fine point behind or at the end of the quarter window. It would look sharp!

Yeah, I wouldn't take it much farther than that.

This is the stripe I am putting on my 64 2 door sedan. It is a 69 chevelle/El Camaino SS stripe.

I had a 78 with a 76SS grill painted charcole metallic gray with rallys and had the same idea, wish i could post you a pic it looks like a twin! what i did was blacked out the side window frame, tail light panel and grill/bezels and i added a satin black stripe below the lower body line the length of the car. Also had a red interior and it looked very nice. Later i added cragars too.
