They're not Pontiacs, but many people want to believe they are. Some provinces in Canada registered them as Acadians and others as Pontiacs, which adds to the name confusion. I've talked to many people who are convinced they're Pontiacs, even though the Pontiac name was never used on them or to promote them. At the dealer level, they were clearly a separate car line, identified by dealership signs that said Pontiac-Buick- Acadian-Vauxhall-GMC trucks.Ok, I thought Acadians were not Pontiacs so why the poncho motor?
