ive always wondered what else is there other then points? im still using point on mine is there another way to start the car? is that the hei thing? i like the nova's that start right away with a turn of the key, how is that done?

You can pick up a HEI dist. cheap in about any jy. The coil is in the cap so you won't need your old coil. Be sure to get the cap and wires also. Simple swap. HTH Mike

what is it though? cause my points suck sometimes the car wont start on the first trun so i know the points are worn out. i just wanted to know how some people get theres to the point where they pump twice turn the key and bam starts right up..id love to do that :yes:

The HEI is a self-contained unit that replaces the points w/an electronic module. Points-type distributors work well when you keep them adjusted properly and replaced regularly. The tab on the points that rides on the cam in the dist. wears and allows the points to close up.

Hei is the way to go.You could pick one up on ebay for under $100.Dump the points.
This is a cheapie but it will be better then what you have now.bm
