Just a TIP that it would have been nice had I figured out BEFORE I drilled out the trunk lock on my 76:
If you remove the licence plate light, you can reach up with long needle nose pliers, and pull the clip out from behind the lock tumbler, and pull the lock right out. Then reach in with a screwdriver and open the trunk.
