I have a 71 with mono springs and (obviously) the 8.2 inch 10-bolt. I just got a 73 parts car with an 8.5 and multi springs.

I would like to put the multi leaf springs (they are in nicer condition with new bushings/shakles etc) in with the new rear end. Can I just unbolt at the spring shakles and bolt em into my car?? Will the drive-shaft spacing be correct etc? Or is there more to this swap? Will tire clearance change much..what is all entailed in this?

Is there such a thing as rear-end alignment? And if so, how do I make sure I get the new rear-end in straight?

It should be a bolt in as far as the springs and everything, but I am not sure about the drive line, when I swapped my 8.5 for a 12 bolt I had to lengthen the drive line about an inch because the yoke was shorter on the 12 bolt.
The springs have center bolts in them that fit into pockets on the diff brackets to line everything up.
