Hey guys,

I've been in need of a complete parking brake set-up for my 73 for some time now. All of the old parking brake cables were removed by the previous owner. I recently purchased the parking brake housing, but I still need the cables. I've been searching around online for a complete cable set...but all my searches result in kits for 68-72 novas. Is the parking brake cable set up the same for 68-72's as it is for 73-74's? Any help with this would be much appreciated- Mike

If you have a local NAPA store ask them they can cross reference it for you, but I'm pretty sure they're the same. I bought mine from NAPA for my 69.

Great suggestion. I'll give them a call. Hey, were you able to buy the complete cable kit including all nuts/bolts/fasteners, or just the U-Cable and guide rod for the front? Also, do you remember around how much NAPA charged for the kit? Thanks- Mike

A long time ago I got my kit from Classic Industries and while the package stated it was for 68-72, it fit just fine in my '73. That kit came with all the clips and everything. As far as a cost, I can't remember and I don't have a current catalog.

I bought the U cable, both rear cables and the couplers, the guide rail would have to be bought at a repop place I think it was around $100 or so.

All great suggestions! I feel like I now have several options to try. Hey, can you guys check out this link for a kit I found on ebay and tell me if you think it'll be what I need for this Parking Brake Install. I emailed the seller and he assumed it would also apply to a 73/74, but could not make any promises. Anyways, lemme know what you think guys. Thanks again- Mike

I can't say for sure, but I would be surprised if it wouldn't work. Will he take it back if it's not the right one?, because he will benefit if it does fit and you play guinea pig for him.
